Author Guidelines

1. The "Contemporary Issues and Ideas in Social Sciences" publishes items in the following categories:

  1. Research Articles
  2. Notes
  4. Comments and Opinions
  5. Surveys
  6. Book Reviews
  7. Letters to the Editor

2. All papers, that is, articles, notes, comments, comments and opinions, and surveys, submitted for publication in the journal will be refereed according to procedures which are objective, transparent and consistent with the basic objective of encouraging socially relevant research on issues of contemporary relevance. Book reviews will ordinarily be commissioned by the Editorial Board. Unsolicited book reviews will be published only after they have been refereed and recommended for publication by the reviewers. The letters to the Editor will be published at the sole discretion of the Editorial Board. The discretion will however be applied in accordance with the principle that due consideration should be given to different viewpoints.

3. Publication of a paper in this web journal would not be a bar to its publication in a print journal or in an edited volume. Thus the papers published in the web journal can be treated, if so required for the purpose of publishing in print journals or in edited volumes, as refereed working papers.

4. The submission of a paper for publication in this web journal would imply an undertaking on the part of the author(s) that the paper in question has not been published or accepted for publication.

5. Decision on the submitted paper would be communicated to the author as far as possible within ten weeks of submission. The decision can be acceptance, rejection, or acceptance subject to clearly specified changes. In case the author is asked to revise, a decision on the revised paper would be communicated to the author as far as possible within six weeks of the submission of the revised version. The revised version of a submission will be rejected only on the ground that the revision does not conform to the specifications mentioned in the conditional acceptance communication.

6. Submissions in PDF format are preferred. In case of acceptance, the final version of the submission must be prepared using LATEX. The final version need be sent only as a LATEX file.

7. The submission of a paper for publication in this web journal would imply that the author warrants or the authors warrant as the case may be that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright and that the author(s) indemnify the publisher against any breach of such warranty.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor has it been accepted for publication (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is a LATEX, PDF, Microsoft Word or RTF file.
  3. Wherever applicable, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the references. The URLs are ready to click (e.g.,
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except for URL addresses); and illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate places, rather than at the end.
